Minang Cove Resort is an ideal Tioman Island resort for a short break - perfect for a few days or a week "away from it all". The resort is situated in five acres of land at the south of Tioman, lying beneath the legendary mountain twin peaks and with its own secluded sandy beach set in a bay. The limited number of chalets and villas ensure that there are no big crowds, and guests enjoy personal service.
Please note that the resort closes during the year-end December to February northeast monsoon season.
At the heart of the resort is the restaurant where guests dine on delicious Malay cuisine. The beachfront bar is open all day and offers a variety of beverages and snacks - and sensational sunsets on the outdoor verandah ! A small library has a "borrow or swap" selection of books.

Activities & Recreation
Minang Cove Resort offers a range of activities either on its doorstep or close by (equipment/transport costs apply): -
- Walk or Jungle Trek - step into Tioman's tropical rainforest.
Stroll 15 minutes to deserted Pantai Burung (Bird Beach) and spot sea eagles, iguanas, monkeys; 45 minutes to a small fishing village, Kampong Mukut; under 2 hours to the island's largest waterfall to swim in its refreshing base pools. Something more adventurous ? - climb one of Tioman's famed 2490 ft "Twin Peaks" ... only for the very fit and must be accompanied by a guide.
- Golf - take a short boat ride to Tioman's only 18-hole golf course. While challenging, the spectacular scenery and jungle-lined fairways make the course a memorable walk. Clubs, shoes and buggies available for hire.
- Boat tour - explore Tioman's coastline aboard the resort speedboat; make both "water" stops to snorkel on coral reefs and "land" stops at villages for sightseeing and lunch.
- Kayak - set off in a two-man kayak to explore deserted bays and beaches.
- Snorkel - family fun ! Either snorkel off the resort beach or take a boat to one of the small islands. Floats and rings are provided for less-strong swimmers; snorkel equipment (mask, snorkel, fins) can be rented or bring your own.
- Scuba Dive - explore underwater life with great visibility !
Dive either off the resort beach (depth range 6 - 27 metres, with a wreck site at 12 metres) or from a purpose-built speedboat fitted with the latest safety features. Under the guidance of an experienced Dive Instructor or Dive Master, visit local reef sites with soft and hard coral formations and prolific marine life (dolphins, sharks, rays, turtles, barracuda - among others !). The resort's well-equipped Dive Centre caters for all your diving needs, or bring your own equipment. Certified PADI Dive Courses are also available - please enquire for details.

Tioman Island, at 39 kms. long and 12 kms. wide, is the largest of Peninsular Malaysia's east coast islands. Its high mountain peaks and dense virgin rainforest coverage mean that only coastal "village" areas are inhabited. Surrounded by the South China Sea's warm clear water, fresh water in also abundant in streams and waterfalls. Due to its natural beauty and stunning scenery, the island is widely regarded as the tropical paradise setting for the mythical Bali Hai in the film "South Pacific" - no wonder, then, that Tioman holds the accolade of being in the top ten most beautiful islands in the world.
